An expensive taste

When it comes to luxury there are a couple items that come to mind, cars, watches, real estate.
One that might be a little unexpected but is gaining momentum among the rich is top quality whisky. There is something about sipping a £200 glass of scotch on the rocks at a high end bar or owning a numbered bottle of your favourite whisky that you bought at an auction for £4000.

Well known whisky brand Bowmore has recently released twelve bottles of what is said to be some of the finest scotch whisky ever produced. The Bowmore 1957 is a very luxurious item and in order to get your hand on it you will have to bid for bottle numbers 1 or 2 that have gone up for auction in Edinburgh and New York at a reserve price of £100,000 a piece. With only ten bottles remaining the price might even go higher. Two will be kept by Bowmore for their archive and the other eight will be sold in Bowmore's own distillery store at a cool £100,000. The proceeds of these store sold bottles will go to Scotish charities. So not only will your search for luxury provide you with an ultimate when it comes to whisky but it will also help charities in need.

The company who make these bottles have also contacted some of the finest glass makers in the world who have produced twelve bottles that does not take anything away from the prized liquor. The bottles are designed with the effect of waves which crash on the shores of the island where the whisky was created. Tiny additions of platinum have been made to the glass giving it that little bit extra shine. Along with the bottle comes matching signature glasses with the year of whisky 1957 and the logo of Bowmore carefully emblemed on side. All of this in a hand crafted wooden box makes one serious bottle of whisky. For those who can afford it will have a hard decision to make, when to drink it.
